Balamban, Cebu- Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. (THICI), one of the leading shipbuilders in the world, named and delivered an 82,000 deadweight metric ton type ‘KAMSARMAX’ bulk carrier, the SC-211 m/v Scarlet Island on May 20.

Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. (THICI), one of the leading shipbuilders in the world, delivered a 58,000 deadweight metric ton type bulk carrier on May 12, 2014 at one of its quays. The ship, SC-216 was named m/v Global Vega by a Taiwanese sponsor.

Tsuneishi receives PEZA’s Hall of Fame Award

Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. (THICI), one of the leading shipbuilders in the world, received the Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Community Projects from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for three years (2005; 2011; 2013) during the Investors’ Recognition Night 2014 on April 24 at the World Trade Center, Manila.

A call for reforestation, Tsuneishi plants 15,000 mangroves

Most of the marine shorelines were devastated by the last two strong typhoons that hit the Philippines, the super typhoon Yolanda that destroyed the Northern Cebu and Basyang’s strong waves reckoned up the damages.

Tsuneishi Foundation (Cebu), Inc. (TFCI), the philanthropic arm of Tsuneishi Group of companies planted 15,000 mangrove propagules in a one hectare area shoreline of Buswang Nangka, Balamban, Cebu on March 22, 2014 timely with the World Water Day celebration.

320 employee-volunteers together with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENRO) of Balamban took part in this activity.

"Various private companies and organizations are busy in the restoration projects in the affected areas in Northern Cebu, the foundation is also aiming the same prioritizing our fisher folk's source of income at the same time protecting the marine sanctuaries in the area, and marine shorelines from erosion", TFCI President Hitoshi Kono said.

The mangrove reforestation activity is an annual activity of the foundation to raise awareness of the importance of mangroves as protectors of the ecosystem.

SHIP LAUNCHING CEREMONY OPEN TO PUBLIC on April 14, 2014

Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. holds launching ceremonies at the Tsuneishi Factory slipways and building docks that are open to the public. The next ceremony will take place on April 14, 2014(Monday) at 10:45am. There is no need to make reservations for this event. The starting time may be changed without prior notice due to tides and weather conditions. Please arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes before the starting time. Furthermore, please do not wear high-heeled shoes or sandals due to safety concerns. We look forward to welcoming you to the ceremony.
